About me
I am a San-Francisco-dwelling, pembroke-welsh-corgi-belly-rubbing, honkey-nerd-loving, fried-chicken-eating, thirty-something digital photographer, food blogger, graphic and web designer and copywriter.
I recently left a career wearing bunny suits in Silicon Valley to help run my partner’s uber cool web design and development agency, Sage Webworks, as its Creative Director.
Check out my art, food and product photos at junbelen.com. Prints for almost all of the photographs in this blog and in my photography site can be custom printed and framed. To order prints send an email to jun@junbelen.com.
I love to eat. Sweet or savory. Street food or fine dining. Eat in or take away.
Jun-Blog is a photo documentary of my gastronomic adventures in San Francisco dining and my success and mishaps in recreating these adventures in my own kitchen. Jun-blog is a compilation of notes and photographs about city dining and homemade cooking.
Why Jun-Blog?
My dear old friend Stuart gave me my pet name Jun-bug many years ago and ever since it has just caught on. And when I was thinking of a name for my blog I thought Jun-Blog would be splendid.
The name Jun-Blog is actually inspired, too by one of my favorite films: the Amy Adams independent film Junebug. In this touching family drama set in the South, Amy Adams’ perky but naive and very pregnant Ashley utters the line “I’m gonna name my son, Junebug!” And so I thought “I’m gonna name my blog, Jun-Blog!” Silly, isn’t it?

Hi – I just found your blog via the Glee community on facebook. I like your writing! Can I add you to my blogrolls?
Yes, Urban Mama! That will be awesome!!
Hello …
I just wanted to let you know how much I love your blog and your websites. And I love what you have to say about Stanford, your rescue Corgi. What a lucky, lucky little Welshman he is!
Thank you for visiting http://www.sammystory.net and for your kind comments:)

Hello Jun …
I have added a link to your (and Stanford’s) website at sammystory so people can read about you and your rescue corgi, Stanford, and your life in San Francisco too!

Thank you, Sammy!!
So glad you stopped by ‘My Baking Heart’ – now I’ve got a new blog to visit!
You’ve got gorgeous photos and a beautiful puppy! I’ve got a Corgi mix, too, and I just love that breed. Looking forward to your future posts!!
Hi Jun!
I love how you captured the flavor of Dogpatch! I posted a link to your blog on the Homes on Esprit Park Facebook page for our readers, neighbors and residents to check out…
Keep up the great work. Beautiful photography!
Kirstin
okay, i love it. my husband’s nickname from his family is junebug as well. and no, naming your blog junblog is brilliant!
Jun,
I stumbled upon your flickr page first while searching for char siu recipes and boy was I impressed by your photos! I spent about a half-hour going page by page through your amazing photostream. Then I had to stop because I was getting so hungry by all your food photos!
Being a resident of Oahu, I also enjoyed the many photos you took of your trip to the islands. And Stanford! Sooo adorable! I am also a corgi-loving (but cannot afford one), aspiring chef (starting culinary classes this Summer) and amateur photographer (only a Canon Rebel XTi), and I hope to follow in similar footsteps as yours!
Cheers,
Vin
